- What can I Expect? -

What should I expect from Women's Health Physiotherapy?

To begin, your physiotherapist will assess your condition, diagnose any problems and help you understand what is wrong. They will work with you to develop a treatment plan that considers your lifestyle, goals, leisure activities and general health.

Your physiotherapist will evaluate your progress at regular intervals throughout your treatment program and modify your treatment and goals accordingly. Your physiotherapist will also help you manage your condition independently for the longer term, wherever possible.

Do I need a referral?

A doctor’s referral is not necessary to see a physiotherapist in private practice, although we frequently work in partnership with doctors and specialists to plan and manage treatment for a specific condition.

How long are my appointments?

Depending on your condition and the type of treatment, your initial appointment will last between 30 to 60 minutes. Please arrive 15min before your appointment if have not/cannot access your admission paperwork sent to you via email? This is to make sure we get you into your physiotherapist on time.

Standard follow-up appointments are 30 minutes; however, more complex conditions or treatment of multiple areas may require longer consultations. If this is the case, your physiotherapist will discuss the options with you.

How do I schedule follow-up appointments?

During each session, your physiotherapist will discuss your treatment plan and suggest an optimal follow-up appointment time to assist your recovery. Then, at the end of each visit, you should check in with our administration team to re-schedule your next appointment.

Will I always have the same physiotherapist?

Our policy is to schedule you with the same physiotherapist throughout your treatment. Occasionally, substitutions may need to be made due to illness or holiday leave, but we will inform you of this as early as possible. On other occasions, your physiotherapist may recommend that you visit with another team member who has additional expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. If you would like to see another physiotherapist at any time throughout your treatment, please let a member of our Administration Team know, and they will reschedule an appointment for you.

What is the cost of my treatment?

Will my insurance cover the cost of my treatment?

What should I do if I can’t make it to my appointment?

To accommodate client treatment schedules, and for the efficient operation of our practice, we reserve time slots specifically for your treatments. If you need to cancel and reschedule an appointment, please give 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. A full consultation fee may apply if more than 3 same-day cancellations are made.
